“Men in Early Education Network” in New England

March 24, 2008

Dear Friends and members of NAEYC,

The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) has just awarded  BAEYC , a grant to fund memberships to the Boston Association for the Education of Young Children (BAEYC) to support the “Men in Early Education Network” in New England.

If you are an Early Education  professional who would like to help build this network,  please  fill out the attached application and let us know why and how you want to get involved.

Men make up less then 5% of the teachers in education of young children. But it is well know that children need both male and female role models.   The “ Men in Early Education Network”, plans to recruit and support men in this field.  We plan to have ongoing networking meetings plus workshops and participate in early childhood conferences and trainings.

We are presently offering full and partial memberships to 10 elegible applicants.

Our first event is planned as a reception of the “Men in Early Education Network on Friday, April 11 at the MassAEYC Conference in Westford, MA.

5 to 6:30PM.

Dr. T. Berry Brazelton, nationally know peditatian will join us.   The next day a panel discussion will be open to those who have registered for the MassAEYC conference.

For details about this conference go to their website at:  www.massaeyc.com

If you attend this reception Friday night or the panel discussion at 3-4:30PM on Saturday, April 12, 10 elgible applicants will receive a free a membership to NAEYC/BAEYC by filling out the enclosed application.
